PowerArchiver Command Line (PACL)

PACL is an advanced command-line archiving utility for Windows console environments. It fully supports various popular compressed file formats, including ZIP, 7-ZIP, PA, CAB, JAR, TAR, TAR.gZ, TAR.BZ2, yENC, Base64, CAB SFX, etc. PACL uses FIPS 140-2 validated components.

PowerArchiver Command Line

PACL is designed as a multifunctional, reliable, and scriptable application that can be used in many different configurations and scenarios. PACL is completely independent and does not require any installation. Copying the required files is everything an administrator needs to do to start working.

Important features

PowerArchiver command-line is an advanced enterprise level command-line utility with multiple features, including:

1. Multi core deflated zip engine - nearly 16 times faster than single core systems on quad core computers. Our multi-core engine provides byte level parallel compression, which is different from other file based engines. This means that PACL can use an unlimited number of threads to accelerate single file compression (such as for large databases) while providing excellent compression.
2. Improved speed and strength - Improved zipper compression and extraction in any situation.
3. Fully supports advanced ZIPX format - according to the latest ZIP standard, LZMA, LZMA2, JPEG, PPMd, BZIP2, and WAVPACK in ZIP/ZIPX. PowerArchiver is the only application that fully supports WinZip files and provides faster and stronger compression compared to WinZip.
4. Fully supports more basic ZIP formats - Deflate codec support, compatible with all archives and built-in Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10/Server ZIP readers. PowerArchiver provides excellent compression even in Deflate codecs.
5. Unlimited size archives - unlimited size archives and files in an unlimited number of archives.
6. Support Unicode in ZIP - Read and write support for Unicode. Implemented throughout the entire application.
7. ZIP/ZIPX AES Encryption Support - Supports PkZip 5.1 and WZ 9.0 standards, thus supporting all possible ZIP encryption combinations (unique feature!) - FIPS 140-2 validation.
8. The advanced codec package (. PA format) fully supports PA format, providing better compression, speed, and security. The most advanced format on the market, using components validated by FIPS 140-2. According to the settings, it can be several times stronger or faster than ZIP compression.

Encryption function and FIPS 140-2 verification

Complete list of encryption functions:

1. PA format - encrypts files and archives using FIPS 140-2 validated components, and can encrypt file names. Due to its internal formatting function, it has excellent security.
2. Excellent ZIP compatibility - Only archivers that are fully compatible with SecureZip, including reading 3DES encrypted archives and ZIP/ZIPX archives encrypted with digital certificates.
3. It is also fully compatible with WinZIP and all other ZIP encryption implementations.
4. FIPS 140-2 Validation - PowerArchiver ZIP/ZIPX AES encryption is not only based on standards and compatible with all solutions, but also FIPS 140-2 validated and can be used by government agencies that require FIPS 140-2 validation solutions to protect data.

VSS support

Do you need to compress databases, Outlook. pst files, or any other files specific to certain applications? PowerArchiver is no problem - we provide exclusive support for VSS (Volume Shadow Support), which is typically only used for enterprise backup to access data that other programs cannot access.
